Set in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, Royal Ashdown is a quintessentially English club with two fine heathland courses – the Old currently ranked by Golf World as 29th in England. Famed for not having a single bunker between them, the courses instead rely on Nature's defence of heather, humps, hollows, and streams.

A charming and traditional club in East Sussex, Royal Ashdown Forest's two old-fashioned heathland courses are an absolute delight. The Old course is the pick, with an outstanding stretch of pure heathland holes. It's a 2-ball course, which won't suit all, but 3/4-balls are allowed at certain limited times. Famous for having no bunkers on the course!
Old is the principal course but predominantly 2-ball play
Shorter West Course is not the equal of the Old but enjoyable nonetheless
