Royal Blackheath is held to be the oldest golf club in England (if not the world), having been instituted in 1608. But don't mistake old for stuffy; today, the club is forward-thinking and has renovated the parkland course to enhance the fine James Braid design. Located near Greenwich, Royal Blackheath is only 9 miles from the City.

An old-fashioned parkland course, and the oldest club in England, Royal Blackheath is an impressive venue with a grand clubhouse. For a unique addition to the day, we strongly advise making time to take a look around the museum. The club is incredibly convenient for London, too.
