Two miles from the M25 but set in the tranquillity of a vast country park with its mighty oaks, Thorndon Park is Essex's finest golf club. The course is a 1920 design by Harry Colt, one of the greatest golf architects, and has been sensitively lengthened over the years. Thorndon Hall presents a magnificent backdrop to the final hole.

One of the loveliest parkland courses around London, Thorndon Park is widely regarded as the best course in Essex, and we agree. The clubhouse isn't the neighbouring Mansion House, as many people expect, but it has recently been refurbished to modern standards.
